Overview
The purpose of Civil Engineering is to make our living environment safe and comfortable. Civil Engineering covers widespread, multiple fields, e.g., design of infrastructure such as bridges and roads, assessment and resolution of environmental problems such as water and soil pollution and design of comfortable living spaces such as urban areas and parks. Our Civil Engineering Department offers educational programs and studies not only for conventional civil engineering but also for 21st century Civil Engineering. Our program consists of three educational categories: Infrastructure Engineering to create structures that can withstand natural disasters, Environment and Disaster Prevention Engineering to enable us to live in harmony with nature and Regional Planning to design comfortable cities.
